Men's Soccer Collects Road Tie

Men's Soccer traveled to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Saturday to take on Dordt. The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw, the Tigers' seventh of the season - equaling their total from the last five years combined.

A misplayed pass in the opening minute led to Dordt's goal. After a shot attempt was saved, the rebound was picked up and sent in for a 1-0 Defender lead. In the 29', Doane's Brody Mueller looked to have a one-on-one against the Dordt goalkeeper but was taken down a slide by a Dordt defender and a foul in the goal box was called. Guillem Colom took the penalty kick and scored to tie the game.

The Tigers out-shot the Defenders on-goal in the second half, 4-0, but Dordt's keeper was able to keep Doane off the board. For the game, Doane held a 15-9 shot advantage. Samual Montanez recorded one save.

Next up for the Tigers will be a pair of home matches to close out the regular season beginning with Concordia on Wednesday, October 25, at 5 PM.
