Volleyball opened the year on Thursday at the Big Sky Challenge. In their opening match of the season, the Tigers faced NAIA No. 21 Montana Tech. The Orediggers posted a 3-0 win with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-18.
Montana Tech posted 47 kills compared to Doane's 29. The Orediggers hit .306 as a team with the Tigers limited to a .098 attack percentage.
Kayden Schumacher posted eight kills and a .333 attack percentage in the match. Taylor Sluka added eight kills with a .222 attack percentage and two total blocks. Chloe Rose posted 14 assists in the match and Camdyn Carpenter posted six.
Grace Zeier led the team with 10 digs and Carpenter added eight digs as the team had 42 in the match.
