No. 23 Argos Hold Off Volleyball Upset Bid

The Tiger Volleyball team closed out their first day of action in the new season on Thursday against No. 23 Providence. The Argos took the match, 3-1, with scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-16, and 25-19.

Providence held an advantage in kills, 48-46, and attack percentage, .158 to .072. The Tigers were out-blocked at the net, 15-7.

Sophia Turek and Taylor Sluka finished with 11 kills apiece. Kayden Schumacher added eight kills. Chloe Rose picked up 18 assists and Camdyn Carpenter finished with 17 assists. Kate Roseland led the team with three ace serves.

Grace Zeier posted a match-high 26 digs with Harper Case adding 18 digs and Sophia McKinney adding 10 digs to lead the defensive specialists. Delaney Burge posted 4.0 total blocks.

Doane will be back in action on Friday as they take on Carroll at 12 PM (CST). They will also take on Rocky Mountain later in the day.
