Volleyball closed out the Big Sky Challenge taking on Rocky Mountain (Mont.), a team receiving votes in the NAIA preseason poll. The Tigers had a stronger showing than their morning contest, pushing the Battlin Bears but falling in straight sets, 25-17, 25-22, and 25-23.
Kate Roseland paced the Doane offense in the match with 11 kills. Kayden Schumacher added eight kills in the match. The Tigers hit .117 overall with 38 kills. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 19 assists while Chloe Rose added 10.
Defensively, Grace Zeier posted 22 digs, Sophia McKinney picked up 17 digs, and Harper Case added 14 digs. Delaney Burge had a solo block for the Tigers while Hilary Hupp and Frankie Curren-Graff teamed up for a block.
Doane returns back to Nebraska to compete in the Bellevue GoSarpy.com Classic on August 23 to take on Goshen at 4:30 PM.
