Bio

Coach Ashley Lyon took over the reigns of the Doane Cheer and Dance programs in 2015. Lyon was named the GPAC Cheer Co-Coach of the Year in 2018.

Tiger student-athletes have had success both in the classroom and in competition during Lyon's tenure. The Cheer team has had three all-conference selections and has been an NAIA Scholar Team (3.0 team gpa or higher) each year under Lyon with 30 NAIA Scholar-Athletes (3.5 gpa) through the 2023-24 season.

Lyon is a Doane graduate (2007) and was a member of the Tiger dance squad while an undergraduate. Following graduation, she was a Red and Gold Girl for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008 and 2009. She became the head coach at Lincoln Southwest in 2013 and held the position until coming to Doane in 2015.
