Football Places Five Players on All-GPAC List

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2024 football all-conference honors on Wednesday. Five players from the Doane squad were selected for their athletic accomplishments this year.

Kelen Meyer was named First Team All-GPAC at punter. He led the GPAC in punting average with a mark of 44.3 yards per punt, ranking third nationally. Meyer led the NAIA in punts placed inside the 20-yard line with 28.

Meyer also earned Second Team All-GPAC honors at placekicker. He made eight field goals with a long of 52 yards while converting all 14 extra point attempts. Joining Meyer on the Second Team was long snapper Matthew Arent. He earned the specialist honor as the snapper for punts and field goal/extra point attempts.

On the defensive side, Jarett Boggs received Second Team honors at linebacker. He led the Tigers with 86 total tackles, 7.8 per game. Boggs posted 9.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks while recovering one fumble and intercepting one pass.

Receiving honorable mention honors was quarterback Sam Hartman and defensive back Andrew Brown. Hartman finished with 1,932 yards passing this year, most by a Tiger quarterback since 2018. He threw 12 touchdown passes and rushed for two.

Brown finished fourth in tackles in his rookie campaign, posting 55.0 tackles. He recorded two interceptions and broke up eight passes. He also had 1.5 tackles for loss.

The Tigers finished the season with a 3-8 overall record and a 3-7 GPAC mark.
