Men's Basketball Wins Third Straight by Topping York

Men's Basketball hosted York on Wednesday evening in Crete. Four players finished in double-figures in points for the Tigers, lifting Doane to a 74-62 win over the Panthers to improve to 3-0 on the season.

York led midway through the first half following a 10-0 run to take a 20-18 with 8:45 to go. Doane responded with a 15-0 run behind three 3-point baskets and three fastbreak layups over a three-minute stretch. The Tigers led 40-28 at the break.

The Panthers battled back in the second half, cutting the Doane lead down to one point, 54-53, with 10:09 to play. Glavine McDonald knocked down a 3-point basket on the next Tiger possession, starting an 11-0 run to take a 65-53 lead with 7:32 to go. The closest York would get the rest of the way was nine points.

Ty Foster led the Tigers with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting. He added five steals and four assists in the game. McDonald posted 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four steals. Jack Wilson posted 11 points and six rebounds while Brady Timm finished with 10 points and five assists.

For the game, Doane shot 50-percent from the floor (27-of-54) and 47-percent from behind the arc (14–of-30). York shot 45-percent from the floor (24-of-53) and 33-percent behind the arc (8-of-24).

The Panthers were led by Chris Dixon with 21 points while Carl Thorpe Jr. finished with 20 points, five assists, and five steals.

Doane will play their first road game on Saturday, November 9, when they travel to Peru to take on the Bobcats at 6 PM.
