Men's Basketball took on Concordia in Crete on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and posted an 81-60 win over the Tigers.
Concordia was able to break down the Tiger's zone defense initially to jump out to an 8-2 lead. Doane was able to cut into the lead with a couple of forced turnovers to pull within one, 8-7. However, the Bulldogs rattled off six straight points and slowly pulled away from the Tigers the rest of the way.
Brady Timm led Doane with 23 points and five assists. Glavine McDonald added 10 points. Jack Wilson led the team with six rebounds. Casen Chaney was joined by Timm and McDonald with three steals apiece.
For the game, Doane shot 38-percent from the floor (24-of-64) and 30-percent behind the arc (8-of-27). They were 4-of-5 at the free throw line. Concordia shot 56-percent from the floor (29-of-52) and 35-percent from behind the arc (7-of-20). They were 16-of-24 at the free throw line.
Noah Schutte led the Bulldogs with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Tristan Smith added 16 points. Schutte and Smith had four assists apiece in the game.
Doane will hit the road on Saturday, January 11, as they take on Waldorf in Forest City, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 3:45 PM.
