
Men's Tennis Defeats Bethany in Home Victory
Men's Tennis picked up a 5-2 victory over Bethany (Kan.) on Thursday afternoon in Crete. The win was the sixth of the season for the Tigers and their third straight.
In doubles play, Doane picked up the team point by winning two of the three matches. Jose Purizaca and Diego Infante won 6-2 at No. 1 while Andre Hartman and Elliot Dassel won at No. 2, 6-4.
In singles play, Purizaca won at No. 1 over Zeke Mumford, 7-6 (8-6), 6-0. Infante won in a third-set tie-break over Daniel Lozano Machado at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8). Hartman also won in a tie-break at No. 3 over Dylan Gwilt, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5). Dassel won in straight sets at No. 4 over Carlos Manuel Rodriguez, 6-3, 6-0.
Next up for the Tigers will be a Sunday, April 6, meeting against No. 18 Morningside (Iowa) in Crete at 12 PM.
