
Men's Track and Field at Bulldog Early Bird
Men's Track and Field competed at the Bulldog Early Bird meet on Saturday in Seward. The Tigers picked up one NAIA automatic qualifying mark and two provisional marks to go with three event championships.
Trey Dickey won the weight throw with a personal best throw of 20.24m (66-05.00), meeting the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. His mark is the top one in the NAIA this season and ranks third on the Doane record books. Also in the weight throw, Andrew Schmitz placed second with a throw of 17.77m (58-03.75). He ranks fourth in the NAIA with his NAIA provisional qualifying mark.
Kyler Nichols made his Tiger debut and won the triple jump with a NAIA provisional qualifying mark of 14.46m (47-05.25). His mark places him second in the NAIA.
Thomas Oliver won the 3,000m run for the lone win on the track for Doane. He ran a time of 8:55.21.

Andrew Brown placed sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.50. Connor Bradley took fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 6.96. Caleb Mulder finished seventh in the 200m with a time of 22.87. Lucas Gautier took fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:00.75.
Drew Garrison finished in a tie for second in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.35m (14-03.25). Dylan Starr finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.98m (6-06.00). Peyton Herrick was third in the high jump based on attempts after also clearing 1.98m.
Michael Willey posted a jump of 6.58m (21-07.25) to place fifth in the long jump. Cale Bessler finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 15.27m (50-01.25).
Doane will return to action on January 11, 2025, when they host the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic in Crete.
