Sutton, Starr Named GPAC Field Athletes of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held January 6-12, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

 

Field Events – Madison Sutton, Doane University

Madison Sutton from Doane University is this week's women's field athlete-of-the-week. Sutton, a senior from Lexington, Nebraska, moved into third place on the NAIA season chart in both the weight throw and the shot put with winning throws on Saturday. Her marks were the best marks in the NAIA on the week for the weight throw and shot put. Sutton had a throw of 17.97m (58-11.50) in the weight throw and a mark of 14.41m (47-03.50) in the shot put, moving her into ninth on the Doane all-time chart.

Field Events – Dylan Starr, Doane University

Dylan Starr from Doane University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week.  Starr, a senior from Fairbury, Nebraska, moved into second in the NAIA on the season in the high jump with his mark of 2.09m (6-10.25) at the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic. His mark was the top mark in the high jump this week in the NAIA.
