
Men's Track and Field Competes in Seward
Men's Track and Field competed at the Concordia Invite on Friday afternoon.
On the track, Dalton Whisenhunt won the 60m dash with a time of 6.96. JaDae Moore finished second with a time of 6.98 after posting a time of 6.94 in the prelims. Caleb Mulder won the 200m with a time of 22.79. Jonathan Zoubek placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 51.79.
Parker Gaston took third in the 600m with a time of 1:25.58. Emmanuel Yego won the 800m in a time of 1:59.42. Michael Grigsby added a win in the 1000m after posting a time of 2:32.39. Cody Smith finished 10th in the mile run with a time of 4:41.35. Jayden Wall won the 3000m by posting a time of 8:51.42. Zach Fox took fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.38.
The distance medley relay team of Porter Bickley, Moore, Eli Marez, and Grigsby punched a ticket to nationals with a winning time of 10:12.99.
In the field events, Peyton Herrick took second in the high jump with a mark of 1.98m (6-06.00). Drew Garrison took second in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.45m (14-07.25).
Michael Willey finished third in the long jump with a mark of 6.66m (21-10.25). Callan McKinney placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.73m (45-00.50).
In the shot put, Cale Bessler hit a personal-best mark of 15.92m (52-02.75) to place third and improve on his NAIA provisional qualifying standard. Trey Dickey met the NAIA automatic standard once again as he hit a throw of 19.19m (62-11.50) to win the weight throw. Andrew Schmitz placed second with a throw of 18.59m (61-00.00) and Jaden Vollenweider was third with a mark of 17.96m (58-11.25), both meeting the NAIA provisional standard.
Next up for the Tigers is the GPAC Championships in Mitchell, S.D., on February 14-15.
