
Men's Wrestling Finishes GPAC Duals with Win over Briar Cliff
Men's Wrestling closed out the first GPAC Duals in Seward on Tuesday afternoon against Briar Cliff. The Tigers lost the first and last matches of the dual but ran eight straight wins in between and posted a 40-9 win over the Chargers.
BCU received a win at 125 as NAIA No. 21 Dante Rigal defeated Brian Peck by pin. The Tigers tied the match as Matthew Terrence won by pin at 133 over Evan Fuchs in 4:45. Devin Avedissian put Doane in front with a 15-0 tech fall win over Ayden Kelley at 141.
Nathan Lendt won by tech fall, 19-4, over Tyler Fouts at 149 for his 61st win at Doane, moving him into a tie for 9th on the wins list. Ben Miller posted a 17-1 tech fall win over Brandon Harris at 157. Cooper Spaulding defeated Jackson Balmer at 165 by decision, 10-3.
At 174, Benjamin Dobler won by tech fall, 20-2, over Erik Lessears. Tyson Beauperthuy picked up his second tech fall win of the day, defeating Jeremiah Bethel, 21-6, at 184. Bradley Antesberger won by pin over Nathan Adras in 5:43 to improve to 5-0 at 197. Briar Cliff picked up a 4-1 decision as NAIA No. 16 Alton Allen picked up a late takedown to defeat Eli Criblez.
Next up for the Tigers will be the Conner/Oppenheim Doane Open on December 7 inside Fuhrer Field House in Crete.
