
Softball Drops Game One to Friends
Softball returned to action on Monday afternoon with the first of three games on the day. The Tigers took on Friends (Kan.) in Wichita, Kansas, in the first of two meetings on the day. The Falcons used the long ball, three home runs, on their way to a 12-0 win in five innings.
Doane was limited to a pair of hits in the game, singles from Marisa Marquez and Anna Prauner. Marquez also drew two walks to reach base three times in the game.
Bri True took the loss (1-1) as she went 1.0 inning, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one. Faith McDonald threw the final 3.0 innings, allowing six runs (two earned) on four hits with a strikeout.
Doane and Friends will start game two of their doubleheader approximately 30 minutes from the conclusion of the opener.
