
Softball Downed by Evangel
Softball took on (RV) Evangel on Friday afternoon to start the second day in Branson, Missouri. The Valor posted an 8-3 win over the Tigers.
Evangel scored the first eight runs of the game with three in the second inning, three in the fifth, and two in the sixth. Doane plated their three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kayla Meyer doubled to drive in Jeryn Allen and Hannah Pack for the first two runs. Anna Prauner doubled to bring Meyer around to score.
Faith Molina started for Doane and went 5.0 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out six. Faith McDonald threw the final 2.0 innings, allowing two runs on five hits.
Doane had five hits in the game, two from Prauner. The Tigers had three doubles in the game and stole four bases.
Next up will be a contest with Kansas Wesleyan. The game will start late due to the length of time for the Evangel game.
