Softball Wins Opening Game Against Bulldogs

Softball hosted Concordia on Friday afternoon in the final home games of the season. Pitchers controlled the opening game with Doane breaking through late for a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs.

The game was scoreless until the sixth inning when the Tigers posted their two runs. With one out and runners at first and third, Grace Dowding stole second base. Jeryn Allen followed with a squeeze bunt to plate Dowding for the second run.

Molina sealed the victory in the seventh inning for the Tigers, capping 3.0 innings pitched out of the bullpen. She allowed one hit and two walks while striking out three. Faith McDonald threw 4.0 innings, allowing three hits and one walk.

Doane was held to four hits in the game, two from Dowding. Anna Prauner and Bri True also collected a hit apiece.
