Women's Basketball traveled to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Thursday to take on No. 1 Dordt. The Tigers ran into inopportune timing, posting their lowest shooting percentage of the season as they fell to the Defenders, 95-37.
The Tigers started the game with five baskets on their first six shot attempts to take an 11-3 lead with 5:50 to play in the opening quarter. However, the cold weather front moving into the area found the Doane hoop the rest of the game as the Tigers were held to 8-of-46 shooting over the last 35 minutes. For the game, Doane shot 25-percent from the floor and was held to 1-of-18 from behind the arc.
Macy Holtz led the Tigers with 11 points. Ella Johnson and Emma Brown added six points apiece. Kaylee Klover posted eight rebounds and Addie Hatcliff led the team with three assists.
Dordt received 18 points from Stella Charleston and 12 points apiece from Macy Sievers and Gracie Schoonhoven.
Doane will return to their home court for the first time in nearly a month when they host (RV) Morningside on Saturday, January 4, at 2 PM.
