Women's Basketball traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday to take on No. 5 Briar Cliff. The Tigers got off to a slow start as they fell to the Chargers, 96-67.
Mak Hatcliff led Doane with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting. She led the team with three steals and added five rebounds including four offensive rebounds. Macy Holtz posted 19 points and two assists. Megan Chambers led the team with seven rebounds to go with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Doane finished the game shooting 44-percent (28-of-63) from the floor but was limited to 21-percent (3-of-14) from behind the arc. They converted 57-percent (8-of-14) at the free throw line. Briar Cliff shot 49-percent (33-of-68) from the floor with a significant difference coming from behind the arc where they hit 54-percent (21-of-39) of their attempts. BCU was 90-percent (9-of-10) at the free throw line.
Briar Cliff received 20 points apiece from Mallie McNair and Grace Flanagan. Kennedy Benne added 16 points.
The Tigers are back home on Wednesday, February 12, when they host Midland at 6 PM.
