Women's Track and Field Compete in Seward
Women's Track and Field competed in the Bulldog Early Bird meet in Seward on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers met two NAIA automatic qualifying standards and three provisional standards to go with four event titles.
In the pole vault, Kaylee Pribyl posted a personal best clearance of 3.85m (12-07.50) to win the event and post the top mark in the NAIA while meeting the automatic qualifying standard. Her height is the second-best mark in program history.
Madison Sutton is back at Doane this year after competing for the Tigers in 2021. She got off to a strong start with an automatic qualifying mark in the weight throw and a provisional mark in the shot put while winning both events. In the weight throw, she recorded a throw of 17.54m (57-06.50) to move into third on the NAIA chart. For the shot put, Sutton had a throw of 13.64m (44-09.00) to move into fourth.
Also in the weight throw, Kaylie Lotspeich met the NAIA provisional qualifying standard with the sixth-best throw in the NAIA. She hit a personal best throw of 17.22m (56-06.00), topping her best mark from last year by nearly nine feet (47-11.25).
Josie Garrett won the triple jump with the fifth-best mark in the NAIA. She leaped to a distance of 11.56m (37-11.25).
Additional top event finishes:
Lindsay Adams placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.36m (17-07.00). Elenna Koenig and Katelynn Kratz tied for seventh place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.50m (4-11.00).
Katie Vogt placed sixth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.17. Maddy Ramey finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 6:05.72. Chaney Nelson placed seventh in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.58.
The first meet in 2025 will be the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic, hosted by the Tigers on Saturday, January 11.
