Women's Track and Field Finishes Tune Up for GPAC

Track and Field put together an impromptu meet with Concordia on Saturday following the cancellation of the Nebraska Wesleyan meet on Thursday.

The Doane women won four events in the meet. Abby Fontana took third in the 100m dash with a time of 13.12. Mallory Riffel finished fifth in 31.04 in the 200m. In the 800m, Madison Lytle won with a time of 2:34.21 while Delaney Catron won the 1500m in a time of 5:31.60. Aly Plock placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:18.38

In the field events, Jastiny Jackson and Sarah Theiler tied for first in the high jump with a mark of 1.65m. Both athletes met the NAIA provisional qualifying mark. Samantha Knapp took second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30m.

Rosalyn Roggasch hit the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in the triple jump with a leap of 12.02m. Morgan Craig took third in the long jump with a mark of 5.09m.

Natylie Myers took second place in two events. In the shot put, she had a mark of 12.25m and in the hammer throw, Myers had a throw of 42.06m. Norah Cloudt took fourth in the discus with a mark of 32.28m. Mattie Pohl finished second in the javelin with a mark of 38.38m

Doane will travel to Orange City, Iowa, on May 3-4 to compete in the GPAC Championships.
