Williams Qualifies for Paris 2024 Paralympics

Former Doane Track and Field athlete Taleah Williams ('19) qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympics, representing Team USA in the long jump. Williams will be making her third appearance at the Paralympic Games, having competed in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020 previously.

Williams competed for the Tigers during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, earning All-GPAC honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons for the long jump. She qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in both years. 

Competing in the T47 division, Williams took fifth place in the long jump in Rio de Janeiro while placing fourth in Tokyo. She competed in the World Championships in 2017, 2019, and 2023. In the 2023 World Championships, Williams earned a bronze medal. She took gold in the 2017 event.

The 2024 Paralympic Games will be held August 28 through September 8. Approximately 4,400 athletes will compete in 22 events.
