Bio
Head Coach Ed Fye took the reins of the Tiger track & field program during the 2002 summer. In October 2021, he was promoted to Director of Track and Field/Cross Country. Previous to 2002, Fye was an assistant for 18 years. Fye graduated from Doane College in 1982, where he excelled in football and track. He was an All-American and has been inducted into the Doane Athletic Hall-of-Fame.
Since being named head coach, Fye has received several honors for both indoors and outdoors. He has been named Region and GPAC Coach-of-the-Year numerous times while Doane athletes have earned 626 All-American honors and 433 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 49 NAIA Scholar Team honors. On 46 occasions, an individual or relay team has won an NAIA National Championship for events won at the national meet.
On just the women’s side, Coach Fye has led the Tigers to 29 indoor and outdoor GPAC Championships and 534 GPAC All-Conference honors. There has been 274 NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, 15 NAIA National Champions, and 316 NAIA All-American honors by female student-athletes during Coach Fye's head coaching tenure.
Ed is seen most often with the high jump, pole vault, javelin, and multi-eventers. Fye has served as a NAIA national officer for track & field in recent years as well.
