McKinney, Sluka Earn All-GPAC in Volleyball

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has released the 2023 Volleyball All-Conference team and two Tigers were recognized for their efforts this season. Sophia McKinney, a sophomore from Grand Island, and Taylor Sluka, a junior from Lincoln, were both named on the honorable mention list.

McKinney, a libero for the Tigers, led the team with 458 digs this season, an average of 4.63 digs per set. She was second on the team with 21 ace serves. McKinney recorded a career-high 32 digs in a win at Briar Cliff and 30 digs in a win against Hastings.

Sluka, a right-side hitter, was second on the team with 230 kills for an average of 2.32 kills per set. She hit .175 on the season and was third on the team in total blocks with 54. Sluka had a season-high 18 kills at Mount Marty and a season-best five total blocks against McPherson.

The Tigers finished the year at 8-19 overall and 6-10 in the GPAC.
