Volleyball opened action in Florida against Milligan (Tenn.) on Friday afternoon. The Tigers and Buffalos went the five-set distance with Milligan picking up the win, 25-18, 16-25, 27-25, 21-25, and 15-13.
Doane held the edge in kills with 60 but Milligan was still able to put up a strong block at the net, finishing with 14 team blocks. Kayden Schumacher and Taylor Sluka led the Tigers with 16 kills apiece. Sophia Turek added 16 kills in the match. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 29 assists and Chloe Rose added 24 assists.
Defensively, Grace Zeier led five players in double figures for digs with 26. Sophia McKinney added 18, Harper Case finished with 16, Carpenter picked up 15, and Rose posted 12 digs. The Tigers picked up 4.0 team blocks in the match with Jenna Sweeny and Delaney Burge collecting two total blocks apiece.
In the second match of the day, Doane will take on their host, Florida College.
