Volleyball Sweeps Briar Cliff for First GPAC Win

Volleyball hosted Briar Cliff on Saturday evening in Crete. The Tigers picked up their first conference win of the season with a three-set sweep of the Chargers. Game scores were 26-24, 27-25, and 25-17.
Natalie Wood led the Tigers with 12 kills and Taylor Sluka finished with 10 kills. Kayden Schumacher added nine kills while Kate Roseland picked up seven in the balanced Tiger attack. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 37 assists in the match as the team posted 43 kills.
Defensively, Grace Zeier led the Tigers with 21 digs. Carpenter added 15 digs and Mackenzie Painter picked up 14 digs. Doane finished with 2.0 team blocks as Hilary Hupp teamed up with Sluka for both blocks.
Doane will return to action on October 4 in Orange City, Iowa, as they take on No. 1 Northwestern.
