Volleyball started their weekend journey into Iowa by taking on NAIA No. 1 Northwestern in Orange City. The Red Raiders won the match in straight sets, 25-17, 25-22, and 25-10.
Kayden Schumacher led the Tigers with 11 kills while posting a .286 attack percentage. Natalie Wood finished with 10 kills in the match while Taylor Sluka and Kate Roseland added five kills apiece. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 29 assists on Doane's 33 kills. Lillian Parolek posted the Tigers' lone ace serve.
Defensively, Grace Zeier led the Tiger back row with 13 digs and Chloe Rose picked up nine digs. Doane had 3.0 team blocks. Sluka was in on all three blocks, teaming with Hilary Hupp for two blocks and Roseland for one.
Doane will make the short trip to Sioux Center, Iowa, on Saturday, October 5, to take on Dordt at 5 PM.
