Volleyball faced off with Dordt on Saturday evening in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Defenders were able to hold off a couple of quick starts by the Tigers in the first two sets and picked up a 3-0 win over Doane. Game scores were 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.
Natalie Wood led the Tigers with nine kills with Kayden Schumacher adding six. Taylor Sluka and Kate Roseland added five apiece. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 21 assists on Doane's 30 kills as a team.
Doane finished with 2.0 team blocks with Hilary Hupp in on both of them. She teamed with Wood and Schumacher on one apiece. Grace Zeier led the team with 14 digs while Carpenter added nine.
The Tigers will be back at home on Friday, October 11, as they host Waldorf at 7:30 PM. It will mark the first conference matchup between the two programs and the first meeting since 2009.
