Old Rivals Meet as Volleyball Defeats NWU

Volleyball went out of conference on Friday evening as they traveled to Lincoln for a match at Nebraska Wesleyan. The two rivals last played in 2015 but the time apart did not change the end result as Doane topped the Prairie Wolves in four sets. The victory moved the Tigers to 65-28 all-time against NWU as well as topping last year's win total. Game scores were 17-25, 25-20, 27-25, and 25-23.

Kayden Schumacher led the Tigers with 16 kills with Natalie Wood adding 14 kills. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 35 assists and recorded two ace serves. Taylor Sluka led the team with three ace serves as Doane recorded 10 as a team.

Grace Zeier posted her third straight match with 25 or more digs, collecting 25 on the evening. Carpenter added 14 digs and Sluka finished with 12. The Tigers picked up 6.0 team blocks in the match, led by Hilary Hupp with four total blocks.

Doane will continue their road swing, advancing north to Sioux City, Iowa, to take on Morningside. The first serve on Saturday, October 19, is set for 5 PM.
