Volleyball Drops Road Contest in Seward

Volleyball traveled to Seward on Wednesday evening to take on No. 2 Concordia. The Bulldogs picked up a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-15, 25-17).

Kayden Schumacher led the team with nine kills while Natalie Wood added eight kills and Taylor Sluka finished with seven. Doane had 30 kills for the match, hitting .042 as a team. Camdyn Carpenter dished out 23 assists in the match while Grace Zeier added five. The Tigers had three ace serves in the match, two from Mariah Sliva and one by Chloe Rose.

Defensively, the Tigers had 5.0 team blocks. Hilary Hupp was in on all five blocks, including one solo. She teamed with Sluka for three blocks and Carpenter for one block. Leading the way in digs for Doane was Carpenter with 11 followed by Mackenzie Painter with nine.

The Tigers will need two wins to close the regular season for a chance at qualifying for the GPAC Tournament. The hunt for the postseason begins on Saturday, November 2, as Doane travels to Omaha to take on Saint Mary. First serve is scheduled for 3 PM.
