Women's Cross Country Preps for Conference by Co-Hosting Top NAIA Programs

Women's Cross Country co-hosted the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic at Mahoney State Park near Ashland. The Tigers finished ninth in the team standings, topping Concordia who was ranked ahead of them in the latest poll. Teams taking the top eight spots were ranked above the Tigers entering the meet. Saint Mary (Kan.) was the team champion.

Doane was led by Danie Parriott with a 24th place finish and time of 22:49.91. Calla Wittland placed 58th with a time of 23:34.73 and Mackenzy Lippold placed 60th in a time of 23:38.20. Grace Colbert crossed the finish line in 24:10.18 to place 88th and Laura Hasemann was 99th with a time of 24:18.45.

In total, 303 runners finished the race with 27 teams finishing with team scores. A total of 35 teams were represented in the event.

Doane will return to the course at Mahoney State Park in two weeks on Saturday, November 9, when the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships are held.
