Bio

Coach Lyon took over the reigns of the Doane Cheer and Dance programs in 2015. In 2019, she guided the Tigers to their first appearance at the NAIA National Championships. The Tigers have returned to the NAIA National Championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Lyon was named the GPAC Dance Coach of the Year in 2020, 2022, and 2023. Doane won the GPAC and NAIA Regional Championships in 2023, the first in program history.

The Tigers have seen much success during Lyon's tenure, becoming a top team nationally. Additionally, Tiger student-athletes have had success both in the classroom and in competition. The Dance team has collected 24 all-conference honors and has been an NAIA Scholar Team (3.0 team gpa or higher) each year under Lyon with 27 NAIA Scholar-Athletes (3.5 gpa) through the 2023-24 season. There have also been 19 NAIA All-Americans during this time.

Lyon is a Doane graduate (2007) and was a member of the Tiger dance squad while an undergraduate. Following graduation, she was a Red and Gold Girl for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008 and 2009. She became the head coach at Lincoln Southwest in 2013 and held the position until coming to Doane in 2015.
