No. 1 Dordt Defeats Women's Basketball

Women's Basketball had the tall task of taking on No. 1 Dordt on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa, as the Defenders recognized 50 years of women's athletics. The Defenders were able to post a 102-58 win over the Tigers.

The two teams went through the opening four minutes and were tied 6-all. A 3-point basket from the Defenders started a 12-0 run as they were able to close the quarter on a 21-4 run for a 17-point lead after 10 minutes. Dordt had an 8-0 run in the second quarter as they pushed their lead to 49-24 at the half.

In the third quarter, Dordt closed the final 4:24 with a 12-4 run to lead 73-37 heading into the final 10 minutes. The Tigers shot 47-percent in the final quarter to raise their game percentage to 43-percent.

Kaylee Klover led the Tigers with 13 points and six rebounds. Mak Hatcliff added 12 points. Rylie Rice notched three assists and two steals. Megan Chambers had two blocks in the game.

Doane will return to action as they host Jamestown on Friday, February 2, at 5 PM in Crete.
