Penalty Kick Downs Women's Soccer at Grand View

Women's Soccer dropped a 2-1 battle in Iowa on Saturday evening to Grand View. The Tigers scored the first goal of the game as McKenna Rathbun picked up a loose ball in the box and fired a shot into an empty net. The goal came in the 6' of play.

Grand View tied the game in the 24' as Ella Forsyth scored off a pass from Olivia Boyle. The score remained tied at 1-all heading into halftime. In the second half, Grand View drew a foul in the box which led to a penalty kick. Forsyth took the attempt and scored in the top left corner to put the Vikings up 2-1.

For the game, Doane held a 12-6 shot advantage. Shots on-goal were 9-4. Ella Hale posted two saves for the Tigers.

Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Missouri to take on Culver-Stockton on Monday, September 2.
