
Women's Tennis Blanks Avila
Women's Tennis had to bundle up on Saturday and brave the cool temperatures but brought enough heat on the court as they rolled past Avila (Mo.) with a 7-0 win. Avila was short a player, giving the Tigers forfeit wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the Tigers won both matches played. Maria Purizaca and Mariana Espinosa won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles while Liz Calderon and Grace Schroller won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Purizaca rolled to a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 1 singles and Espinosa won 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. Calderon took No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1, while Isabella Castillero won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Schroller won at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Kat Johnson received forfeit wins at No. 6 singles and at No. 3 doubles, teaming with Castillero.
Doane will take on Tabor on Monday, March 3, at 2 PM in Crete.
