Women's Tennis took on Mobile (Ala.) on Tuesday in a doubleheader. The Tigers lost both matches to the Rams, 6-1. Mobile is receiving votes in the NAIA poll.
In doubles play in the first match, the team of Maria Purizaca and Mariana Espinosa won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2. The Tigers lost the team point as the Rams won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Purizaca won the team's only point by defeating Karolina Mrowiecova, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. Mrowiecova is a returning Second Team NAIA All-American for the Rams.
In the second match between the two teams in the afternoon, Doane won the match at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, as Purizaca and Espinosa were the victors.
As in the first match, Purizaca came out on top in a battle of returning All-Americans, defeating Mrowiecova, 6-3, 6-3.
Next up for the Tigers is a home match with Bethany scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, at 3 PM in Crete.
