
Women's Tennis Collects Home Win Over KWU
Women's Tennis was at home on Tuesday afternoon as they hosted Kansas Wesleyan. The Tigers posted a 6-1 victory for their fourth all-time win over the Coyotes in five meetings. The match was contested on Doane's home courts for the first time in the series.
The Tigers won the doubles point by taking two of the three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Maria Purizaca and Mariana Espinosa posted a 6-1 victory. Isabella Castillero and Kat Johnson won at No. 3 doubles, 6-3.
In singles play, Purizaca won at No. 1, 6-2, 6-2, over Hayden Bellamy. Espinosa won at No. 2 over McKinnley Evans, 6-2, 6-1. Liz Calderon posted a 6-0, 6-1, win over Kristi Henderson at No. 3 singles. Castillero won by scores of 6-1, 6-2, over Danielle Slack at No. 4 singles. At No. 6, Johnson won 6-4, 6-1, over Kira McGrown.
Next up for the Tigers will be a trip to Lincoln to take on Nebraska Wesleyan on Thursday, March 27.
